Greetings from Petrozavodsk, Russia

We have now arrived in Petrozavodsk. We have been able to have 2 visits with the kids. Daniel was so excited to see us. It was obvious that he remembered us. He still had the picture book we brought him. We think the social worker has been going through it with him. Both kids did well on both visits. When we went to leave the orphanage today Daniel was upset. We didn’t understand why. Then our translator said he was upset because he wasn’t going with us today. He is ready to come. Last night after our visit our dear Daniel got in a fight with another kid. The story that we got was that the other kid was jealous that Daniel is getting a family and he isn’t. So sad. After the fight Daniel tried to protect this kid by lying to the director about what happened. Katya has been a lot happier on these visits than on our first trip. She is more comfortable with us an only fusses quietly for a few minutes then settles down.
Tomorrow we will try and find our way to church without our driver. We’ll see. Tomorrow we will also be prepared for court and then court is on Monday. After court we will be able to get the kids and then we will be waiting out the 10 day wait period. We are finding that this trip is a little easier because we know a little more of what to expect.
