Day 9 of the 10-day-waiting period. We are getting there. Yesterday we went and had Daniel and Katya’s photos taken for the passports and visas. It was a great feeling to actually be working toward going home. It was also great to get in a car and see some new scenery. Everyone felt refreshed when we returned to the apartment. On Friday we will get our court decree. Joseph will spend Friday morning going around the city collecting birth certificates and applying for the passports.
We are making great milestones with the kids. Katya is crying less and less. She actually can be comforted by me now (Kamber). Her fits during mealtime are also not lasting as long and a few times not at all. She is happy to play a little by herself. It seems as though she gets tired often. In the morning after she has been up a couple hours she starts getting fussy and laying down on the ground. If we lay her down for a morning nap then she will not take one in the afternoon and she is ornery all evening until bedtime. We are wondering if it is some lack of vitamins and minerals, an illness, or just the adjustment period. She is getting more playful, making better eye and physical contact. She is coming a long way.
Daniel is learning what it is like to be a family boy. We are teaching him the way that family boys act. He is grasping the idea. Today we took them to the big supermarket. Immediately after walking in he wanted to go back with his group at the orphanage. We could tell by his face that he was scared. We calmed him down then continued to shop. At that point we realized how overwhelmed he must have been with it all. Boy, it will be a while before he can go to the Super-Walmart. We later explained to him that when he gets scared he needs to come to us now. We are his family.
Daniel absolutely loves puzzles, coloring, matchbox cars, games and cartoons. He’ll fit right in at home. We are all counting the days.
Joseph and I are hanging in there. We are relying on each other for support every day. We enjoy our daily phone calls with Brigham and Kyler. Who by the way, continue to be spoiled by Grandma.
Hope all is well on the home front

Glad to hear things are coming along well. Before you know it you will all be home as one family. I'm so happy for you all. It does sound like the big stores etc, will be a big adjustment for Daniel, but then soon enough all will be good there too. Love to read your postings. Can't wait for pictures.

How are you doing? We are fine. We Watched Where the Red Fern Grows today.
Hi Daniel from Brigham and Kyler
Hi Katya from Bringham and Kyler
We put puzzles together today and then Brigham put his puzzle together by himself it was 100 pieces. He says that is a lot of pieces.
He wants you to know that he gets to keep the puzzle that I bought.
He says he is getting along with grandma most of the time but he says it is still hard not being with mom and dad.
