Introducing Lexie Star

Well it's official and I think safe to say we are now owners of a German Short haired Pointer puppy. For those of you that may remember we have tried the dog thing before. After 3 failed attempts (the longest lasting 2 1/2 days) we tried #4. I think she's a keeper because we've had her a full week and I'm not going crazy. It sure helps that the kids are a bit older. When we tried before Brigham was almost 4 and Kyler was about 1 1/2. Now that our youngest is 3 it's a big difference. The boys are doing really well at taking responsibility since the deal was that I would not take care of this dog. (Don't I have enought things to take care of?) I'm especially proud of their poop scooping abilities.

The name Lexie came from a car (Lexus) We were walking into Target to buy a few dog supplies. We were trying to think of a good name. I saw a Lexus in the parking lot and thought of Lexie. The man we bought her from suggested we give her an original name so that when we registered her as a purebread that there wouldn't be any other dogs named the same thing. Thus the Star part of her name.

Cute dog. Keep us posted on how that goes. I don't know that I'll ever get that brave. What a fun addition to your family though. I bet the kids love her.

How fun!! Good luck! Amelia asks me just about every day when we are going to be getting a dog. I am an "inside dog" kind of person and Guy is allergic so it will probably never happen.

Hi Kamber!
What an adorable puppy! I have been wanting to call and chat, but will have to wait a bit for things to calm down. Know that I am thinking about you and wish you the best in Idaho!
