I have decided to start doing scrapbooking digitally. I have thought about it long and hard for over a year now. Now that I have a decent digital camera I decided to make the switch. Thanks Stacey for introducing me to it and to a new friend (mother of six nearly caught up on her scrapbooks) who recently gave me a nudge. I am now looking for websites with free downloads. I already know about scrapbook flair and also shabby princess. If you know of any other sites please let me know. Also any good place to print 12x12's for less than $2.99. (Stacey I'm talking to you) I am also going to be purchasing a PC program to do it with. Which ones do you like? I currently use the free scrapbook flair program.
P.S. I am only doing digital starting with 2009 so don't hesitate to invite me to go scrapbooking with you. Heaven knows I have a lot to catch up on and maybe by the time I catch up I'll have a laptop to take after that.

Well Kamber, I would invite you to come scrapbooking with me but you decided to move! :)
I hope you enjoy digital scrapbooking the pages sure do look nice.
I've downloaded some free, cute stuff from www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com, I'll be interested to hear if there is a cheap place to print 12 x 12.
I don't know how it compares cost wise, but I use shutterfly.com to print my pictures. I know you can do scrapbook pages on there too, but I have only done 1 and I prefer the old fashion method :) But with Shutterfly you can also make complete books, birthday/christams cards, and so on. Love the blog!
Kamber,
I have used Scrapbook Flair and it is fine, but if you are going to purchase something I would look into Scrapbook Max or Memory Mixer I have both and like them both, you can download a FREE trial of Scrapbook Max.
Some of my sites that I like are:
twopeasinabucket.com
shabbyprincess.com
cottagearts.net
scrapgirls.com
peppermintcreative.com
digitalscrapbookplace.com
scrapbrush.com
digitalscrapbooking-free.com
digifree.blogspot.com
the last 2 are like a search engine they have a ton of stuff you just have to click what you like and it will take you to the website. Really if you just google "free digital scrapbook kits" you can find lots of stuff, and even if you have to buy a kit they are pretty cheap and you can use them over and over again :)
Scrapbookplease.com has a standard matte 12x12 for $1.99 - they also have a Value Matte Print with a white border fof .99 (I have never done this)
I used to do 12x12, but have switched to 8x8 they look just as good, they are not as expensive to print and the books fit on a shelf.
I hope this helps! Good luck :)
I recommend that you look into using a book printing service. I find it WAY more economical! Forget Heritage Makers or Creative Memories -- way too costly.
Try BLURB. Their cheapest book is $24.99 for 40 pages -- 7x7. That is 62 cents a page. The page and printing they use is top quality, and it comes bound. You can get a dust jacket for a couple dollars more. Even if you want a bigger size, it works out to be significantly cheaper that printing it out and binding it yourself.
You can still use your scrapbook pages if they are saved in JPEG and you use the FULL-PAGE bleed option on BLURB. Or you can use the blurb templates.
I made a life book for my son, used their templates and everyone who has seen it can't believe how awesome it looks -- super professional. An additional plus, you can make multiple copies. We made two copies of the book, one our son can love on and one that is kept away for the future.
Also, Blurb is always having specials, so I get the books ready and wait until their is a special and print them usually free shipping or $10 off a purchase of $30 or more.
BTW, We met on LDSINT ADOPT -- I adopted the little boy from Colombia and gave you the suggestion to drop the naps. :)
