September

September was extremely busy with school and soccer. Cub scouts also started back up this month. I spent the month preparing for our trip and trying to keep everything else together at the same time. Along with that I spent many hours going to and from the chiropractor trying to get rid of the back pain I’ve had for 8 weeks. It seems that it is finally letting up although I do feel tightness sometimes, especially in the mornings.

The kids are really liking school and are all doing well. Kyler has passed off 9/12 sheets of 1st grade sight words. She could pass them all now, but she only gets tested on one at a time. Brigham just recently made a salt dough map of Idaho. I was able to volunteer that day and let me tell you some kids had a very goopy mess. (salt dough was sent from home) Daniel is enjoying second grade and works hard at school. His teacher says he’s doing wonderful.
Katya started preschool which she is absolutely loving. She has made new friends and is enjoying learning to write more letters.

Last but not least a recap of our trip to Florida.

Not long after driving to the FANCY hotel did we realize we didn’t want to stay there. Parking would be $13.00 a night and other expenses would rack up quickly. We also thought it would be a big pain to take a shuttle from the parking lot to the hotel everytime we went to or from anything. So we ended up heading over to the residence in where we stayed 5 years ago. It was a great choice. Instead of a small hotel room we had 2 bedrooms and a living room and kitchen. They also have a full breakfast buffet that was included with the stay.

Saturday we spent about 4 hours at SeaWorld before meeting Jeff and Melissa for lunch. We then went to Joseph’s graduation while the kids drove Jeff, Melissa and Corbin crazy. They’re not used to the noise 5 kids can make in a small space.

Sunday we went to what we thought was going to be sacrament meeting, but instead ended up primary. When then crossed the street and took pictures by the Orlando Temple followed by lunch at the Rain Forest Café.

Monday we went to the Orlando Science Center. It was tons of fun for both the kids and adults. Well worth the money too.

That evening Joseph and I went to the State Farm dinner. It was very nice. We saw several people that Joseph went to Management school with 2 years ago.

Tuesday was spent at the Magic Kingdom/Disney World. It was so fun to see the kids enjoying it. During our time there we received the Royal Treatment. We were given Honorary Volunteer buttons to wear since we participated in Disney’s give a day get a Disney day program. While we were walking a working stopped us to ask about our service project and told us there was someone special who wanted to thank us. We were taken into a building and behind the main desk. He knocked on the door and it opened and there stood Cinderella. It was very cool to have our own personal meeting with Cinderella. Later in the afternoon it started to poor. We hung out in a gift shop for 45 minutes then decided to weather to storm and head over for pics with Mickey then go back to the hotel. These next photos show that we are pretty much soaked. After the pics we were able to do a few indoor rides before heading out. We only lost out on 30 minutes of fun.

Wednesday we took an airboat ride. After that we headed to St. Augustine to Jeff’s house. Thursday we toured St. Augustine the back to Orlando. Friday we were at SeaWorld and Saturday we went to Aquatica. (A Seaworld waterpark)

Making bracelets with Aunt Melissa.

We had a fabulous time. Now back to real life, homework, bills, work, housecleaning, church callings and last but not least Halloween costume making.
