Needing an Update

I got behind on my monthly updates again.  We enjoy looking back so much that I don't want to stop doing this.  I must keep up.

Kyler had her birthday in November.  She got her ears pierced.  Yesterday she was able to take out her studs and put something new in.  She loves her earrings.  Kyler shared her special day with Sister Adorable.

We hosted Thanksgiving again this year.  I loved my new double oven.  Cooking things 2 at a time made the preperation go so much faster.  We had our friends and their 3 kids and well as Joseph's cousin, husband, their son and twin baby girls.  It was great to be able to have some family over for Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving night after all the guests had left we got in the car and went camping for the rest of the weekend.  It was fun to canoe, fish and play.  Daniel pretty much fished the entire time while Brigham really took a liking to horse-shoes.  Kyler wanted to canoe the whole time.  The little boys decided to get wet in the water then realized that mom was right that is was too cold for swimming and they enjoyed their warm bath to warm them up.  Katya enjoyed doing a little of everything with everybody.  Camera wasn't working well so I didn't get any good pics.

Early December we enjoyed being a part of our cousins baby blessing.  Joseph's aunt and uncle were here visiting and that was fun.

Kyler had her first piano recital now that she has a teacher.  She also had several choir concerts.  She had the opportunity to sing with the Atlanta Symphony orchestra.  It was an amazing program.  It was also fun to see her name in such a fancy program since they listed all the singers by name.

We enjoyed our Christmas season doing a lot of our Christmas traditions.

We made gingerbread houses.  We went through a LOT of Graham crackers.  The older kids spent nearly and hour and half half creating.

We made monogram ornaments.

During Christmas break I took the kids to the Yellow River Game Ranch.  The kids really loved feeding the animals.

We had a wonderful Christmas.

For New Years we had 3 families over.  It was a smaller group than last year because many people couldn't come, but we partied it up anyway.  Our neighbor sets off a small cannon every hour to countdown.  Everytime he would set it off our friends car alarm would go off.  All the kids stayed up for the new year.  Katya of course fell asleep early and when I woke her up she actually woke up enough to enjoy it and remember it the next day.  This was a first for her.  She usually either doesn't wake up or is half asleep.

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.
