The kids had a fabulous First Christmas. Brigham was thrilled with his Mario 64 Nintendo game, huge Transformer and his new watch, while Daniel enjoyed his motorcycles and truck and trailer, matchbox ice mountain and Dora ABC game. Kyler was thrilled with her dollhouse and accessories and Katya wouldn’t stop riding her rocking cow and playing with her princess shoes. They had a great morning and seemed to be happy with everything they got. One thing that Daniel said while going through is stocking really puts into perspective how much we take for granted, “My very own Banana.” Now if that doesn’t pull at your heart strings what does.
Christmas dinner was spent at my sister’s house this year because of my Grandpa’s passing Christmas Eve. My mom wasn’t sure if they would even be home Christmas day or still sitting with Grandpa during his last hours. We all found it sweet that he went “home for Christmas.” He used to always say that Christmas is for women and children. I guess he gave his wife the ultimate Christmas gift this year.
So amidst all the Holiday celebrations we also had a funeral. It made it fun though because my brother and his family came from Florida and ended up being here for our family Christmas party on the 28th. The funeral was held on New Year’s Eve day. We were all pretty worn out, but most of us were able to make it to the New Year.
New Years Day I received a great gift. For years I knew I would probably get my Grandma’s piano when Grandpa passed away. My Dad was anxious to get it out of my Grandpa’s house because he was worried about theft of vandalism now that the house was empty so they brought it down on New Year’s Day.
We are thrilled to have a piano in our home. Everytime I sit down to play I am reminded of a time several years back when I would play for Grandma Meibos and she would ask me if I was still taking lessons. This would happen every time I played for her. It is because of her that I kept with it. So having her piano makes it all the more special.
A Happy 2008 to all.
I thought you might enjoy a few of our recent photos.

Kamber -i loved the banana story --so sweet! I can't even imagine where they lived. I'm sorry for your Grandpa --I loved your attitude and how he "went home for Christmas" I'm pleased you got a piano --you certainly deserve one. I wish I could play half as well as you.
