May Happenings

We are still anticipating the last day of school. Tuesday is the long awaited day. I am always amazed at how quickly the kids are growing. Brigham will be in the 4th grade. Before we know it he’s off to middle school, high school then on his mission. I’m trying to blink less so I won’t miss so much.

This past month we took a trip to the Brunuea sand dunes. The kids loved climbing the dunes and sledding back down. Gammon also liked his turn on the sled.

Gammon loves Doritos and wouldn't touch the cheese puffs.

Mother’s Day was quiet, but fun. I spent the afternoon cooking a delicious meal of ribs and a very yummy strawberry cream cheese pie. As soon as Joseph returned from church he took over the cooking and then he and the kids cleaned the kitchen while I laid on the couch. This was in addition to the crapes and strawberries he made for breakfast. I was one spoiled mama.

Gammon celebrated his first birthday. Yet another reason I’m trying not to blink. He had so much fun playing with the helicopter Grandma and Grandpa Meibos gave him. We had to put it up after 15 minutes so that he would open his other present. He wasn’t too keen on eating the huge cake in front of him. Instead he just looked at all of us standing around him. After removing the cake truck and giving him that he started eating a little bit of it. I had fun making the truck on the cake.

Gammon has starting speaking gibberish. He has full conversations with himself.

We’ve been enjoying some cool weather with rain. I don’t mind the cooler temperatures, but stop with the rain already. My garden really wants to see some sun.

We planted the garden on a cold, stormy day. It was too windy for Gammon outside. He didn’t like having to stay inside so I put the stool out and he watched out the window for a long time.

Kyler had her kindergarten program. She was very cute. Afterwards I took the girls and Gammon to the zoo. Gammon enjoyed seeing the animals and hanging out on moms back. (I put him in the backpack so that I didn’t have to get him out of the stroller to see the animals.)

Just a cute picture of Gammon eating gravel in the play area of the backyard.
