Lazy Summer Days

Summer is flying by. I have spent all of June lying on the couch being sick and tired from the pregnancy. I am looking forward to a better 2nd trimester. I have just passed the 12 week mark and am starting to feel some relief.

We took a camping trip in June that was so much fun. We left the day school got out. We arrived at 10:00 pm and it was raining and pitch dark (something new to us). We never set up in the dark. Thankfully the new trailer is a lot easier to set up and requires no unloading of stuff to walk in the door. The first day was quite wet and cold. We ventured out when we could, but mostly stayed in and played games. The kids all enjoyed fishing and canoeing. Katya and Kyler were fishing from the dock using sticks we made into fishing poles. After about 20 minutes Katya started yelling, “I got a fish, I go a fish.” We were thinking to ourselves Yeah Right. Joseph went over to help and sure enough there was a large trout at the end of her line and 2 foot fishing stick. She was pretty thrilled.

Kyler performed at Cherry Days. She was so cute. She did great on her solo. After the show we walked around the vendors then the kids played in this petting zoo. As you can see the baby goats were a hit.

We have spent several evenings at Eagle Island swimming and playing in the sand. Gammon is really starting to enjoy the water.

Here are a couple of pics from him slip&sliding. Actually he would run alongside the slide the jump in the pool at the end.

Brigham had a great birthday. He and Daniel went to Wahooz because he got a free coupon to use on his birthday. That evenings cousins came over for games and treats. Brigham also went to Roaring Springs Water Park with Joseph and a friend instead of having a big party. He had tons of fun and I was happy not to have the big party.

For the 4th of July we stayed home. We enjoyed the afternoon at the local pool. Then Grandma and Grandpa came over for a BBQ. We watched the 3rd Narnia movie then pulled out the fireworks. We had a great time.

Katya had a great Birthday also. We got her a cardboard playhouse the she can color. She has been coloring like crazy. She also got a bingo game. She had a game party. I set up stations with Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Memory and Hi-Ho Cherrio. The older kids manned the stations and help keep the games moving along. We had a prize box for the winners. We made mini-pizza’s which the kids liked. There were 9 extra kids here and Katya had a blast.

Congrats to you with another little Dent on the way. That is so exciting! I can barely keep up with four. Sounds like you guys are having a great summer.

Congratulations Kamber! I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. It was fun to catch up on your activities this summer. The kids look wonderful! Can't believe Gammon is 2 already!
