Lots going On

Daniel had a great birthday. He keeps asking everyone he knows if they know how old he is. He thinks he’s being pretty tricky. He was surprised with 2 remote control cars. Grandma and mom didn’t communicate on the gifts. He however loves both of them so it turned out all right. He had a fun Nintendo party with friends. They ate pizza and played Nintendo. It was fun to see him with his friends.

It was Pinewood Derby this month. Brigham and Joseph went over to Uncle Dale’s shop where he makes cabinets and went to work with saws, sanders and drills. Uncle Dale guided Brigham’s hand in cutting and Brigham was pretty happy and felt special getting to use the machinery. Things turned out well at the race. He won 4th or 5th. It was debatable since he never raced the 4th place car during the race, but won him right after. He was very proud of his car as was his dad. Both boys (Daniel and Brigham) are talking about what they’re going to do for their cars next year.

We made blankets for Project Linus. They give the blankets to very sick kids in the hospital. We did this as an offer from Disney to receive a 1 day ticket voucher. The kids had fun doing the service. I’m glad we were able to do something like that and I think it is something we will do more often.

The 2nd term has ended. Kyler’s teacher has moved her to the advanced reading program on the computer so that she has more of a challenge. Yesterday Kyler said, “Going on the computers is just a waste of time for me since it’s so easy.” Daniel is doing well on and grade level. He stays on task and is very determined. He has changed from solidarity play at recess to group play. I have been worried about him socially and it looks like he is evolving now. Brigham is doing well. He is able to pay attention better now that he gets better sleep. It appears that he may be having trouble seeing so we are getting him in to see the optometrist. Katya is starting to write more and more letters. She is also throwing less tantrums. A huge relief to me.

Gammon can get anywhere he wants. He pulled himself to an upright position at the dishwasher. He still is not crawling, but who needs to crawl when you can scoot really, really fast. He got his first haircut this month.
